Gigs Galore!

Hi, we have two gigs back to back on Weds and Thursday, details below:

Wed 31 MAY, 12PM, KL SING SONG MINI COLLEGE TOUR @ HELP INSTITUTE, BANDAR DAMANSARA
( sorry no flyer)

We're super excited to back at Moonshine again, as Reza tells you here, Moonshine was one of our very first gigs, and it was such a memorable and fantastic experience that we're hoping to re-create that magic we felt then.

To share that magic with us, make sure you're there this Thursday! Jimmy of Tempered Mental will be joining us on acoustic drums, and Kevin of Qings and Kueens will be joining us on double bass/electric bass, so seriously, MAKE SURE YOU'RE THERE! cuz this is the first time you'll be listening to Rhapsody with some drum and bass!

We can't wait!

On Track!

Oh what happiness is bubbling over me!

Mr. Ramo (web designer extraordinaire and very very very good friend), who is working on the official Rhapsody website, had uploaded the stuff he's done so far onto the clientpseak page.

Ywenna and I have taken a look at it and we love it! So by a chance meeting last night on msn, we proceeded to discuss in detail what else needs to be done. Boy oh boy, am i excited! We came up with quite a few changes, and suggestions, and things look like they're going to be even more fantastic!!

I'm going to take this opportunity again to everyone who're helping us reach our dreams. It's just so humbling to see your friends believe in you enough to spend their time, energy and love, helping in the ways they know best. And Ywenna and I are beyond grateful.

Truly.

A wise man once said "Creativity, bountifulness and gratitude go hand in hand."

And we'll keep his words close to heart.....

My Kind of Christmas

Oh what a lovely time mmm Christmas is
All the money I saved up for a trip
Disappears into cash registers
Buying presents for my annoying neighbors
Fighting with the crowds for the last turkey
Having to listen to elevator music
That goes

(Jingle Bells)

Oh that’s my kind of Christmas
Mmm that’s my kind of Christmas

Oh what a lovely time mmm Christmas is
Alone at home watching reruns on TV
Getting drunk on a bottle of wine
Singing carols until you start to cry
Nowhere to go cuz you ain’t go no friends
Ain’t got no money ain’t got no man

Oh that’s my kind of Christmas
Mmm that’s my kind of Christmas

Oh what a lovely time mmm Christmas is
This is no time to be depressed or sick
Get your ass up take a long bath
Put on that dress and take a deep breath
Dance and laugh, it’s that time of the year
Fill your day with food, song and cheer
And sing

(Jingle Bells Rock)

Oh that’s my kind of Christmas
Mmm that’s my kind of Christmas

Open Windows and Open Plains

Open windows and open plains
Sky’s the limit or so they say
Dried leaves crunch beneath your feet
That breathless moment before you leap
-----------------
Look at the world; oh it’s so big
There’s enough space for us to be
Whatever, oh whatever, that we wish to be
Only if we have the courage to dream
-----------------
Give me my wings to soar
Into the endless blue horizon
Things will never be as before
Looking from the other side of the mirror
-----------------
I want to go
I want to fly
I want to jump
I want to be alive

So This Is Goodbye

Red-stained sheets and a broken bed
Where’s the warmth that used to hold me in its embrace?
The smell of you on my pillows fills my head
I hear you calling me baby and whispering my name

-----------------------------

‘Don’t like me too much coz I’ll break your heart’
But you kissed me again and again and again

-------------------------------

I’m sorry I didn’t mean to cry
As we made love one last time
A tender kiss and you walked out of my life
So, this is goodbye

Still Smiling

I put down the telephone
And I think to myself
It cost me only two dollars
To get on with my life
Then I sit down on the toilet
Staring at my legs
The only thing I can think of
Is I really need a shave
------
A little dazed A little confused
Can’t tell what my heart wants to feel
A little lost A little numb
But I’m still smiling, so no harm done
------
I stare at the fan spinning
At the empty computer screen
I can’t remember if you liked apples,
Big cities or the color green
I think I’m supposed to feel like
My world has crumbled down
But I’m still alive after the earthquake
And tomorrow’s a promise to come
----------
A little dazed A little confused
Can’t really tell what my heart wants to feel
A little lost A little numb
But I’m still breathing, so no harm done
----------
Everything still looks the same
I straighten up the picture frame
Nothing’s damaged, nothing’s changed
I can still hear Love calling my name

Tainted Temples

One touch, it could’ve been a fluke
Twice now, he was up to no good
Sat dumb, couldn’t say a word
Limbs weak, like a broken little bird

Trust and goodness , things that he did not know
Leaving spirits broken and unwhole

Build your temple brick by brick
Keep it under lock and key
Unwelcome feet make it unclean
Can’t wash away what you can’t see

Bloodless wounds need time to heal
Tainted temples need time to rebuild

Smiling, his voice held no trace
Hiding, intention to betray
Anger, came a little too late
Courage, was to be delayed

Now his hands and smile they make no sound
Buried deep, deep, deep, deep, underground

Build your temple brick by brick
Keep it under lock and key
Unwelcome feet make it unclean
Can’t wash away what you can’t see

Bloodless wounds need time to heal
Tainted temples need time to rebuild

Thank You

For the walks in the rain
For the pink sheets on my bed
For the wind in my face
I say thank you

For the flowers in my hair
For the soft cushions on my chair
For a cute guy’s lovely stare
I say thank you

For a loving family
For my friends who’re just so funny
For the good books that I read
I say thank you

A smile from a stranger
A funny story in the paper
A cheery ‘good morning’ from the bus driver
Ahem, these are only the good parts

For the sun that makes me sweat
For the milk that went bad
For the car that splashed me wet
I say thank you

For the barking dog that kept me awake
For the traffic jam that made me late
For the boyfriend who made me wait
I say thank you

For the good and the bad
For the happy and the sad
For the love for everything
I say thank you

You Know Best

Ride the skies
Touch the moon
Slide down rainbows too
Kiss the stars
Dance with Wind
Bounce on clouds that sing

No one else can hold you down
If you decide to jump around
Worlds of freedom where you can roam
For who knows best, but you alone?

Race the sun
Play with rain
Beat them at their own game
Sleep in peace
Dreams are real
Just because you said so

No one else can hold you down
If you decide to jump around
Worlds of freedom where you can roam
For who knows best but you alone?

Sleep in peace
Dreams are real
For who knows best
But you
And you alone…

So Scared

My friends tell me to stay away
My heart tells me you’re worth the wait
He’s not ready, they say again
I just smile and they shake their heads
---------------
I know, I know you might turn out wrong
But how can you help who you fall for?
Even though my mind is screaming NO
My heart will blindly follows
Wherever you go…
----------------
I don’t want this
10 years down the road
You’re still playing
And I’m still not losing hope
-----------------
I’m so scared
Of what I’m feeling
I’m so scared
That I’ll never stop loving
You.

Breakfast at 6pm

Night is day is night is day
Can’t seem to get up from bed
Smell the musty air
Look at your messy hair
Maybe it’s still not too late
--------
You don’t want to sink back into
The sea of blankets that never let you loose
It gets harder and harder
Time seems faster, no, slower
You don’t want to move even if you could
--------
The toilet calls, your stomach demands
Nature has to be satisfied the best you can
Drag your body up
Drink from your coffee cup
Don’t you see you’re stuck inside a rut?
--------
It hits you then
You desolate man
Wondering where your time went
Now you realize that you’re having breakfast at 6pm

Chicks Night Out

Hey we just came back from the gig at KL Jam Asia.

It was kinda weird at first cuz we were the only non-rock band there! But who cares right? Music is music. :)

We were up first, which was a good thing.

Dipha was with us today, which I liked very much, because he just adds texture to our already amazing sound. (So sue us. We love our music and are not shy about it. haha.)

We did 'Thank you', then the samba-ed version of 'Still Smiling', 'Breakfast at 6pm', and 'So Scared'. Then it was time for ze coverrrrrssss....
Because Dipha was here, we took the opportunity of covering Jobim's 'Triste', fantastic song, though perhaps the vibe wasn't quite right. Then we ended our set with John Mayer and Herbie Hancock's 'Stitched Up'. Freaking love that song.

The audience was quite appreciative, though it helped to know that we had genuine fans in the audience, who have supported us since day one. Thanks guys... :) (You know who you are, so we won't name names....: )

Plush was up next. What a tight band. Wish the mic for the Izwin the vocalist was louder though, her nice tone was drowned out by her fantastic band.
Tempered Mental was up next. Need I say more bout this band?

Unfortunately, at this point, we had to leave so we had no chance to catch the other acts, though one group looked quite interesting, with the prerequisite rocker outfits and dark makeup. But personally, it's so much nicer to look at a modest, unassuming, 'normally' dressed band, and let them wow you with just their music alone.

But maybe that's just us. :)

It was good fun. And a shout out to Alda for having us. And we hope to be jamming with a drummer soon, if the talks work out.... :)

Cheers.
